At Mangostorm Media we are very excited to introduce one of our newest clients, Swim Serpentine! A new two-day open water swimming festival held in the heart of London over the weekend of 24-25 September 2016. The festival is organized by our other clients London Marathon Events, and will take place in and around the stunning Serpentine in Hyde Park, which is also the venue for the London 2012 Olympic open water swimming competition.
Come Saturday 24 September, 6,000 swimmers will get the opportunity to swim a mile in open water. There will be a total of 18 waves, and each swimmer will be allocated a specific start wave. There will certainly be a festival atmosphere during the Swim Serpentine weekend, with grandstands and many spectator areas around the Serpentine.
Additionally, Olympian and open-water swimmer Jack Burnell is taking time out of his Rio 2016 training schedule to get involved in the preparation for Swim Serpentine. “This is where the Olympics took place in 2012, we had world class swimmers here and to have the opportunity to swim in the same course as those guys did is not something you can do every day, I would encourage anyone to take the opportunity because they don’t come around very often, it will be fantastic”
